Despite the difficulties of the 60s the company prospered. Expansion It was the energy, drive and business acumen of the founder Ravi Sylvan, that enabled the firm to grow. In the 60s and 70s the operations expanded into & Alberta, positioning Sylvan well in supporting the oil industry construction program launched then. Building on our success during the 80s, expansion continued, and branch operations were opened in Vancouver and Vancouver in the middle 80s. Diversification As the company grew throughout the 90s, it also diversified operations. While still contracting in the residential, institutional and industrial markets, the company increased its technical base to serve clients with other forms of contract services. Restructuring and Growth Through the 90s, management changes and restructuring continued to build the operational side of the business and ensured continued growth and a dynamic environment for the outstanding people who provide the basic strength of our company. Continued Success Nineteen consecutive years of profitability and growth in sales from $58 million in 1988 to over $120 million in 2008, positioned Sylvan Construction for further expansion. Today Sylvan Construction continues to be one of the leading national general contractors providing construction services for a long list of new and repeat clients.
